Cafe Au Lait (and Catching Up) May 30, 2012

Things have been really busy around here, so I haven’t done as much scrapping as I would like – but we’re enjoying “in the moment real life,” so that’s even better! :) My in-laws are visiting us in Nigeria, and we’ve been having lots of fun (Sniff. Only one more week! :( ).

…But I have gotten to do a couple pages – and I’ve even been able to do some for, a-hem, Judah’s FIRST YEAR album.

I used this cute blue and brown kit, Cafe Au Lait, Refreshed, by Mommy Made This for the pages. I’m not a coffee drinker (love the smell, hate the taste), but this kit is great for those of you who are… but as you can see, it doesn’t really matter if you’re not. The blues and browns in the kit were perfect for catching up on my “baby” boy’s album!

You can pick up the kit at Stuff to Scrap and Scraps-n-Pieces!

Featured Product by Mommy Made This May 13, 2012

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you moms out there!

In celebration of Mother’s Day, here’s a picture of me and my mom many moons ago.

I’m rockin’ the baby bonnet, don’t you think??

Also in celebration of Mother’s Day, Mommy Made This has her kit, Rose Garden, as her featured product this month.  Here’s a look at the kit.

I’m not usually a big fan of flowers, but I really like this kit.  I’m not sure what it is – the colors, maybe (the pinks and greens look really pretty together), or the different elements, but I think this kit is quite pretty.  I even made a couple pages with it.  The first one is from a trip to Ireland several years ago - as soon as I saw the kit, I knew just what pictures to dig out of the “I really want to scrap that soon!” file!

The kit can be used for much more than gardening and Mother’s Day photos, though!

Oh my goodness, is she not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen??

The kit and cardstock will be on sale the entire month of May for 50% off at both Stuff to Scrap and Scraps-n-Pieces! And if you come back here on the 18th, there will be a little freebie for you!

…And Happy Mother’s Day! :)

Mommy Made This has a new kit out, Alphabet Zoo.  The colors are so much fun!  The kit is great for zoo pics, school pics and works for boy or girl pictures and has lots of elements.  Check it out!

Cute, right?? :)

In honor of Grandpa and Grandma “Plane” coming to visit us next week (Yay!), here’s a page I made with the kit of The Great Lizard Hunt of 2010.  ;)

Great elements and papers in the kit!  Here’s another brighter page.

The kit and cardstocks (and there are a LOT of papers in the cardstock pack!) are on sale at Stuff to Scrap and Scraps-n-Pieces through May 17, so you still have a couple more days to grab it at a reduced cost!

Mommy’s Little Superhero Freebie April 27, 2012

Have you been picking up the great pieces of the Mommy’s Little Superhero collab from Mommy Made This and Scraps-n-Pieces?  Today is the last day of the downloads, so you get to pick up the CT freebies.  For a complete list, go to the blogs of Mommy Made This and Scraps-n-Pieces.  While you’re here, though, pick up this freebie cluster frame from me (and comments are always appreciated, especially since this is my first attempt at this.  Evidenced by the fact that I forgot to save it in its layered form.  Whoops.).

You can get the frame here.

If you missed the full kits, don’t worry – you can still pick it up in their stores.  Get the girl kit here and the boy part here.  Grab them both because they look great together!

Mommy’s Little Superhero – freebie kit alert! April 23, 2012

Mommy Made This and Scraps-n-Pieces have joined together for a cute collab, Mommy’s Little Superhero – and they’re offering it free this week (Monday-Friday) on their blogs. The catch is you have just one day to pick up a different part of the kit, but it’s so cute you’ll want to grab it. Mommy Made This did a girls’ part of the kit, and Scraps-n-Pieces did a boy part – but really, the papers and most of the elements in each will work for either your little boy or your little girl superheros. Great for Halloween photos, too, and of course those dress up photos. :)

Here’s a peek at the kit and a page I made (Just to show how versatile it is, superheros aren’t included – just a cute kid and his cute conversations. ;) ).

(Click on the layout to better read how darn cute Judah is. ;) )

  • Monday – alpha
  • Tuesday – cardstocks
  • Wednesday – elements
  • Thursday – papers
  • Friday – CT freebies  (Check back here on Friday for a freebie from me, too

Grab the kit for free this week only, then go make some pages with it!   After this week, you can pick it up in the Scraps-n-Pieces store here and here.

Earth Day, Every Day April 11, 2012

Cuteness.

I got to work with this adorable kit from Mommy Made This – Earth Day, Every Day. I LOVE the colors of this kit. I don’t know what it is about them, but I seriously have been opening up the preview just to look at the kit and the colors. I feel so… peaceful. (I know – how Earth Day of me, right? ;) ) The soft blues, green and browns are just perfect together.

I really like the globe papers and element, too – perfect for this page I’ve been wanting to do with the story of how God called me into missions.

Next in line for this kit is a page with some cute photos of some really cute babies in cloth diapers.  :)

…But even if you don’t have cute photos of babies in cloth diapers, the colors of this kit work great with all kinds of photos, and there are lots of neutral elements in the kit, too, so the kit’s not just for Earth Day.   Pick it up at Stuff to Scrap or Scraps-n-Pieces, and check out the coordinating cardstock to complete the kit, too!

Mommy Made This March 21, 2012

No, not this Mommy…. This Mommy has barely made anything lately.  But I am hoping to get motivated to do so.  Soon.

Mommy Made This, a designer over at Scraps-n-Pieces store, is certainly inspiring me with some of her kits.  She has a collection of baby kits, and I’m eyeing this girly one, Watching You Grow, so I can finally get to a pile of baby pictures I have.

Check out the kit at her store here – and it’s even on sale at Scraps-n-Pieces for $4.00.  The rest of her kits are also 50% off until the end of the month since she is the Featured Designer.  Check out this thread at SNP to see how you can join in the fun and even earn a gift certificate to her store!

Start Your Engines! January 27, 2012

It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged – but it’s also been a long time since I’ve scrapped! I finally did a page last week – and would you believe it’s a page of Judah coming home from the hospital?! Well, at least it’s getting done, albeit 3 years later. To make up for my absence, I’m planning on having a freebie coming up (Of course, if you don’t like freebies, that doesn’t really make up for anything, does it?).

…But on to other things – like the coolness that is the AmyDane Designs duo! Have you seen any of their stuff? If not, check out their store at Scraps N Pieces! They’re two talented designers working as a team, and they have some really fun kits – and they’re all on sale at SNP until the end of the month (so you still have a couple days to grab them!). Here’s one I’m eyeing because my three year son loves cars, trucks and anything with wheels – Start Your Engines. It would be fun for road trip pictures, too (which we have plenty of).

Look at all those fun elements and papers!

Check out the kit, and then grab it for 50% off – that’s $3.00 for just a couple more days – at Amy Dane Designs’ store.

Finally some more pages! October 27, 2011

I got to work with some great kits this month. First up is Child’s Play, Revamped, by Scraps of Ellay. It’s a bright, fun kit filled with all kinds of playground and child-like elements, great for the kids in your life.

Here are a couple pages I did with it.  I finally scrapped some pictures from when Judah was 7 months – not TOO bad considering he will be 3 this December!  ;)

This is from when Judah almost fell off the slide at the local school here – not surprising since the slide is sloped at like a 45 degree angle! Who builds these things!?

Check out the fun kit, available at STS! (Image is linked to the STS store.)

I’ve had a “stack” of pictures from when I visited Ireland in 2005 just waiting for the perfect kit to scrap them with, so when I saw Irish Eyes by Seal Scraps, I knew it was time. The kit is filled with some great green papers and elements. There are also some really cool Celtic crosses, clovers and word art. The colors would even work for spring photos, too. Check it out! (Image is linked to the STS store.)

And here are some pages. I did a lot of journaling because, well, it was one interesting trip!

Down on the Farm September 21, 2011

We recently took a trip to Lancaster, PA, and I finally got around to scrapping some pictures of our stay at a little bed and breakfast there. We stayed on a working farm, which Judah LOVED – every morning after a big country breakfast we went on a tractor ride and got to gather eggs and feed the animals.  He had a blast, and we had a blast watching him have a blast…. And Jovelle?  Well, she was just as content as ever and happily went along with it all!  :)

(Click on image to read text if you are curious about our B&B adventures. And disregard the grammatical errors. I'm fixing them, honest!)

Some cute kids on a farm ;)
