Chore Charts and Family Trees August 31, 2011

Filed under: Uncategorized — Christie @ 9:46 pm

We recently moved back to Nigeria after eight months of being in the States, and it’s taken us a while to get settled in (Still not settled yet, actually), but I did manage to (finally!!) get some scrapping in.

I’ve been wanting to make a chore chart for Judah, and Whistle While You Work by The Scrappy Kat proved to be a great kit to make one with. I’m digging the colors – oranges, yellows and light blues – and fun elements for scrapping a mother’s work that’s never done… and Mommy’s little helpers. 🙂 Check out the kit, available here at STS.

And here’s the handy dandy chore chart I made…. Now we’ll just have to see if it works!

I’ve also been wanting to make a family tree for quite some time, and this month’s Scrap What? challenge at STS is to scrap your family tree. Hurray for motivation! Scraps by Andrea has a great kit for it: It’s That Time Again. The family themed word art and almost antique-y looking papers and colors worked really well for this project I’ve been meaning to do for quite some time! Check out the kit, available here.

And here’s my tree. (Tree template from Natalie Smith.)

Lots of good challenges at STS, and a new month coming up means even more, so make sure to check them out!

Under the Sea (World) August 22, 2011

Things have been quite busy lately with our recent return to Africa, but I am finally beginning to get back into the groove (Okay, that’s a lie, but at least I was finally able to scrap some pages!).  When we were back in the States, we went to Sea World, and Digi Designs by Nicole has a great kit out that worked wonderfully for our Sea World trip(s)!  Check out Under the Sea, available here at STS – perfect for Little Mermaid lovers but also works well for those Sea World pictures, aquarium or beach pics and, with the various neutral elements and papers, even everyday pictures.

And here’s a two page layout I did using the kit.

Happy scrapping, and I’ll be back with more soon(er than last time!).
