New Kits from Adriana’s Cafe September 30, 2012

Boy, do I have a lot of things to show you!  My internet has been out for a while (again!), so I am quite behind on layouts and show and tell.  J  But hang in there – I have some freebies, too, including a fun printable of lunchbox notes.

First up is Daily Memories by Adriana’s Café.  Here are some layouts.  I really like the one with my great-grandparents – the paper and lace make it feel so vintage!  🙂

My great grandparents and me! 🙂

…And the kit….

…And a cluster frame using Daily Memories that you can download here.

Adriana also has September’s Our Life in a Year out, too.  Check out the kit.

I went hybrid with this one and made some fun printable notes – 8 of them, actually – that can be slipped into school or work lunches.  I had so much fun with them that I just might have some next month with another of Adriana’s kits, except with a Halloween theme.  (Hint, hint!)  Here’s a peek at some of them.

And here’s a look at the notes in the download.  (Click on image for larger view.)

Download the printable lunch notes here, then just print them out on 8.5 x 11 paper, cut them and stick them in lunches.  Most of the notes are generic, but there are a couple school ones, too.  In the download some blank ones are also included so you can customize the notes.  Here are some other ideas and tips for notes:

  • Print out and pre-cut several notes at one time so they’re ready to grab and go on a busy morning.
  • Write a Bible verse to encourage or inspire.
  • Add a knock-knock joke.  What kid doesn’t love these?
  • Is there a test coming up?  A project at work?  A deadline?  Add a quote or Bible verse to let them know you’re thinking of them….
  • Save all those random toys from party bags and Happy Meals and throw them in every once in a while, or pop in some stickers for a fun surprise.
  • Write a personal note on pre-printed notes every now and then.
  • Have Daddy write notes every now and then for the kids, too.
  • …And don’t forget Daddy!  Have your kids draw a picture on a note for his lunch.

All of Adriana’s kits can be picked up at Scraps-n-Pieces or Stuff to Scrap.

Our Life in a Year: July (and a freebie) July 13, 2012

Filed under: Adriana's Cafe,CT Shout Outs,Family,Freebie,Jovelle,STS designer — Christie @ 5:59 am

I’m so glad Adriana’s Cafe is making all these cute Our Life in a Year kits – it’s giving me a chance to catch up on scrapping some of those pictures that have been sitting on my computer! (And to weed through them – a necessity since my computer is flashing me a warning, “You have only 5 gigabytes of free space remaining. Yikes! Adriana has to stop making all these cute kits so I can get some hard drive space back! 😉 ) Her July kit is really cute – and there’s even a patriotic themed add-on so you can scrap all those Fourth of July pictures. Check out the pages I made with the kit and add-on.

The add-on.

You can pick up the kit at STS or SNP. It will be on sale for $2.50 at both stores – an even better deal, because the add-on is included FREE! It’s like getting two kits for the price of one!

And here’s a freebie for you – a fun little journal cluster for those Fourth of July pictures so you don’t have to do all the work yourself and can spend more time enjoying the summer sun! You can get it here.

Oh, and speaking of Adriana’s Cafe’s Our Life in a Year kits – the Quickpage Challenge at Stuff to Scrap features these kits. Check it out!

Mommy Made This has a new kit out, Alphabet Zoo.  The colors are so much fun!  The kit is great for zoo pics, school pics and works for boy or girl pictures and has lots of elements.  Check it out!

Cute, right?? 🙂

In honor of Grandpa and Grandma “Plane” coming to visit us next week (Yay!), here’s a page I made with the kit of The Great Lizard Hunt of 2010.  😉

Great elements and papers in the kit!  Here’s another brighter page.

The kit and cardstocks (and there are a LOT of papers in the cardstock pack!) are on sale at Stuff to Scrap and Scraps-n-Pieces through May 17, so you still have a couple more days to grab it at a reduced cost!

Earth Day, Every Day April 11, 2012

Cuteness.

I got to work with this adorable kit from Mommy Made This – Earth Day, Every Day. I LOVE the colors of this kit. I don’t know what it is about them, but I seriously have been opening up the preview just to look at the kit and the colors. I feel so… peaceful. (I know – how Earth Day of me, right? 😉 ) The soft blues, green and browns are just perfect together.

I really like the globe papers and element, too – perfect for this page I’ve been wanting to do with the story of how God called me into missions.

Next in line for this kit is a page with some cute photos of some really cute babies in cloth diapers.  🙂

…But even if you don’t have cute photos of babies in cloth diapers, the colors of this kit work great with all kinds of photos, and there are lots of neutral elements in the kit, too, so the kit’s not just for Earth Day.   Pick it up at Stuff to Scrap or Scraps-n-Pieces, and check out the coordinating cardstock to complete the kit, too!

A Simple Wish and Freebie Brag Book Page June 7, 2011

Filed under: CT Shout Outs,Freebie - Brag Book Page — Christie @ 2:24 am

Jensen Motley Crew Designs released a new kit today – A Simple Wish – that’s filled with fun pinks, purples and greens.  I’m a sucker for cute patterns on papers, and there are quite a few in this one – actually, 15 plaid and diagonal papers, plus 26 other papers (some cute patterned ones and some solid ones) and 39 elements.  Here’s a peek at the kit and a page I made with it.

Packed full of papers and elements!

The page was made for the Scrap What? challenge at Stuff to Scrap.  Check out the challenges here and start earning points towards a gift certificate for the STS store!  It’s a great motivator for me to get pages done that I’ve been meaning to anyway.

…And while you’re there, check out A Simple Wish, available here.

And for sticking around, here’s a brag book page you can slip into a little photo album – perfect gift for the grandparents.

April Showers Bring… New Kits! March 1, 2011

Filed under: CT Shout Outs,STS designer — Christie @ 12:01 pm

It’s a new month, which means new kits – and a great blog train – at Stuff to Scrap!   Jensen Motley Crew Designs used the colors from this month’s Build a Kit (where all of the designers use the same color palette to create mini kits, which means that you can buy a couple kits or a lot, and you’ll end up with some fun color coordinated kits) to make a pretty boy-ish kit called Christopher.  Here’s a page I made with it:

Motorcycle Judah (Click on image to enlarge and read journaling.)

I don’t typically use quick pages, but sometimes a gal just wants to get a page or two done, even with a 2 week old baby.  Insert quick pages here.  😉

Here’s a peek at some of the parts of the kit you can get, available at Jensen Motley Crew’s store at Stuff to Scrap

You can get the whole kit or just a few of the pieces if you want.

…While you’re there, check out the blog train, too, on the STS blog.  This month’s theme celebrates reading and libraries – how fun is that?!  (says the bookworm English major)

Winterberry and Christmas Card Freebies December 11, 2010

Filed under: CT Shout Outs,Freebie - Quick Page — Christie @ 6:23 am
Jensen Motley Crew has a new kit out, Winterberry.  It’s not your typical winter-y kit: It has some rich colors in it and some different elements than you typically don’t find in a kit for this time of year.  A nice change of pace!

The holly paper – one of my favorites – actually reminds me of my great-grandmother.  I have this vague recollection of a set of Christmas dishes with these little tiny holly berries on it, and I think they belonged to her.  Whenever I see holly berries, I think of her.  It’s funny, though, how fuzzy our memories become with time – which is why I really want to scrapbook some of my memories and things that happen before I forget them – and also why I’m a big journaler.

Here’s a peek at the kit.

Here are a couple cards I made using the Winterberry kit.  Hope you can use them for the holiday season!

Cute family not included in card quickpage. 😉 I’m afraid you’ll have to add your own pictures and message. 🙂
Another card option….

To download PNG files of the cards, go here.  (Click on the individual cards that you want to download.  You will see a download button in the upper left corner.  Oh, and ignore the funky extraneous designs in the download preview; I checked them and they shouldn’t be in the actual downloads.  I think it’s a problem with the preview when the size is reduced.)

I’m quite new at this whole quickpage thing, so feel free to leave me a comment if you download and let me know how I can improve.

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
