I’ve been able to work on some pages with some great kits.  Here’s a look at some of them.

The first one is called The Lion Sleeps Tonight by Meagan’s Creations, available here at STS.   My husband was looking over my shoulder as I was scrapping and actually commented, “I really like that paper!” then later said, “I REALLY like that paper!”  I like the fun elements, too – especially the pillow and pajamas.  Fun!

Here are a couple pages I made with it.

The next kit is a fun, bright, summer-y, watermelon-y kit.  Fun papers, fun elements, really fun to work with!  I only wish I had some messy watermelon photos so I could use the cute watermelon and watermelon seed elements.  The kit is versatile enough that I didn’t NEED watermelon photos, but those cute elements sure made me WANT some.
Here’s a look at the kit and some pages I made with it.

My Font July 5, 2011

I’m quite excited, as my handwriting is now a font.  🙂  Kimberly Geswein, who is incredibly talented (and a strong Christian who just moved to Orlando – just when we’re going back, too.  Bummer!) and has even had her fonts used in ads for Children’s Place, Skittles, etc., made it into a font which I named “Learning to Trust.”   (The fact that there have been over 2,000 downloads of the font and that lots of people have marked it their favorite has more to do with her talent than my handwriting, I think, but I like to pretend that my riting is just so amazing that thousands of people just HAD to have it in their collection.  Ha ha.)  I was getting quite irritated when writing my font because I kept having to rewrite it since the scanner kept cutting off my doodly faces and alphabet.  My handwriting kept getting messier and messier each aggravated time I redid it, and my “trademark” smiley faces kept getting fewer and fewer and sloppier and sloppier – but despite all of my frustrations, she did a great job.  I’m really excited about it because I do so much journaling when I scrapbook that it’s quite cool to be able to journal in my own writing.  I’ve already used it on almost every layout I’ve made since getting the font, and I’m having lots of fun using it.  It’s very readable, which is sometimes hard to find in a handwriting font, so it’s my new go-to scrapbooking journaling font.

If you want to see it or download it, check out Kimberly’s website here.
